I enjoyed the movie, yes. But only if you look at it from the perspective of it being completely separate from the book. On a cinematic level, it had all the right aspects. It had love, and action, and suspense, however it didnt really live up to its book counterpart.
First and foremost, i think that theyre going to turn it into more of a pissy love story and focus on Petta vs Gale rather then the actual rebellion and everything else. That being said, they left out a lot of important things.
Petta didint lose his leg at the end, Haymitch wasnt as mean and drunk as he should have been, and Katniss didnt seem like she was pretending to be in love - they didnt play the whole fact that Petta was genuinely in love with her and she was faking. Also, they left out a whole lot of the actual love story, and Petta’s “betrayal” in the begining, went he went off with the careers wasnt clearly outlined enough, or explained.
i dont know, a lot was missing, but as a whole, i suppose i liked it. Im taking my little brother to go see it again tomorrow, so, we’ll see :)
